Peli Case Comparison
Each of the Peli case ranges have their benefits and differences. Take a look at the handy comparison table below to help you decide which case is right for you.
Peli Protector Vs Peli Storm Vs Peli Air
What Are The Key Differences and Benefits?
Protector Cases
Protector Cases are waterproof, crushproof and dustproof cases manufactured with Copolymer Polypropylene.
Protector cases utilise double-step latches which create a stronger seal, rubberised handles for a comfortable grip and an automatic pressure release valve for quick equalisation after changes in atmospheric pressure. This allows the case to be easily opened after a flight, for example.
These case have undergone strict tests for water and dust ingress protection, to achieve their IP67 rating.
All three ranges are tested to UK, US and NATO mil-spec standards.
Storm Cases
Storm cases are also waterproof, crushproof and dustproof, however, Storm cases are manufactured using HPX® Resin which makes them lighter, but slightly less strong at higher temperatures.
Aesthetically, due to the composition of the HPX® Resin body of a Storm Case, it marks easier than a Protector Case, but in no way will lose its protective properties.
Peli Storm cases also feature Press and Pull latches, which are easier to open than the double-step latches of the Protector case, but bear in mind that the latches and wheels of a Storm Case contain alloy pins, as opposed to stainless steel, so these cases should not come into contact with salt water, in order to avoid corrosion.
Air Cases
Peli Air cases are similar in design to the Protector and again are waterproof, crushproof and dustproof.
Peli Air cases are are up to 40% lighter than their Protector counterparts, as they're made from a next gen lightweight HPX2™ resin. This is a proprietary formula that allows for the plastic to bend, but it will rebound without breaking.
The lightweight design of the Peli Air range does not compromise its durability. Most Peli Air cases feature double-step latches, however, Press and Pull latches have been applied to some models due to their popularity.
